Letting go of what no longer serves you

Last night I did a card reading, using the Wisdom of Avalon Oracle cards deck to check in what I should be focusing on. I’ve been feeling slightly off lately, like I’m missing something & was struggling with what I should be giving my attention to because I have an overwhelming number of ideas and lists that feel like they are getting away from me – maybe you can relate?

Tarot and Oracle cards provide insights and guidance. It’s away for our Higher Self to communicate with our Lower Self (Spirit talks to Ego) – it’s a reminder of what we already know and access to our own inner knowing. They speak to us using symbols that we recognize and often point to areas that we are denying or ignoring.

I chose a simple 3 card spread with the following layout: Position 1: current situation, Position 2: bridge to cross, Position 3: possible outcome.

The first card I drew was “the Frog” – symbolizing cleaning house and releasing emotional baggage. The message came through loud and clear: Time to get rid of the clutter in my head & house. Getting rid of the clutter in our personal space goes hand in hand with cleaning up your emotional space. The next two cards were “Focus” and “Wealth.” Meaning when I focus on making space and clearing out the old, I will make room for future wealth to occupy.

Letting go of anything that does not bring you Joy, of anything that feels heavy or makes you remember a sad or unpleasant moment – is a way of freeing ourselves up and is wildly liberating.

Perhaps you have similar programming and have been pack rat since a young age, you hold on to broken things thinking that you might fix them or repurpose. You feel a sense of obligation to keep things that only have sentimental value, even if they have no function other than collecting dust. Your collections have collections, and you have boxes of boxes and bags of bags.

I’ve worked on releasing the decades of ‘treasures’ that I have collected over the years and am constantly trying to limit my ‘collections’. My real success came after I did my typical DIY reading and investigations and made attempts at purging. Once I sought the help of a professional, I was able to get out of my own way and really clean house.

There is a dark side to keeping things that can swing out of balance and become onerous and unhealthy. There is an energetic thread that extends from each thing that we possess, that binds us to that vibration. That pull limits our ability to move forward with a sense of ease because of the energetic weight we are carrying.

Letting go of items and thoughts that no longer serve you, frees you up for the next steps in your journey. It connects you to a sense of freedom and lightness that only come with release.

Try giving yourself permission to let go of what is weighing you down.
