Taurus, April 19 - May 20. Second sign of the zodiac cycle, represents growth and development, likened to the stage of a child ages 7 - 14. As the first earth sign, it is when the fully incarnated spirit puts down roots, begins to grow nurturing aspects of the ego, such as caring, managing, maintaining.

Taurus is ruled by the planet Venus, Aphrodite in Greek mythology, our goddess of Love.Her influence is one which seeks harmony and concerns with making surrounding beautiful. In the material plane, having possessions and establishing security are vital to a Taurus existence. Like a young child, at this stage one learns what belongs to them or not and must assume responsability of putting said possesions to use and take good care of them. "Things last longer when cared for."

These same things made be traded or shared in the interest of learning to do for one's self, the ultimate goal being autonomy. Taurus like to be part of a team, but don't last long as followers. Luckily, Taurus lead by example and although at first may seem selfish. Taurus ultimately has the best interest of those around them at heart as well. After all, they live for the people they love.
